Learning Journey/Kelmscott Show

Dear Brass Band, Simply Strings Orchestra and Choir Parents/Guardians,

The Challis Learning Journey is on Tuesday 21st September, Week 10. The instrumental groups as well as junior and senior choir will be performing at various times throughout the event. The performance times are as follows: 

Choirs (Junior and Senior) – 3.30pm – 4.00pm

Rock Band and Clarinets – 4.00pm – 4.15pm

Simply Strings (Violin, Cello and Guitar) – 4.15pm – 4.45pm

Challis Brass (Beginner and Senior Bands)– 4.50pm – 5.35pm

All performances will take place in the New Undercover Area (Canteen) and students should arrive for their performance 15 minutes prior to start time in order to warm up. All students must be wearing school uniform and look neat and presentable.

All performers have been working very hard throughout the year and are very excited to showcase their progress with the Challis community. We are looking forward to you joining us to share in their achievements.

Please make sure that you are present to collect your child once they finish performing.

Please notify your child’s respective music teacher should they NOT be attending the performance for organisational purposes.

Kelmscott Show Performance

We have been invited to perform at the 2021 Kelmscott Show. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to represent Challis and perform outside of school for the wider community.

I encourage you all to make the time to commit to this performance to showcase their talent.

Details are as follows;

Kelmscott Show

When: Saturday 16th October

Time: Performance on the Main Stage 10:30am – 11:30am. Children are required to meet at Gate 1 (entrance to the tennis courts) of the showgrounds at 9:45am. (All performers receive free entry) Parents are responsible for bringing and collecting children to and from this event. For families, if you pre-purchase your entry ticket, you can also enter the showgrounds at Gate 1 with your child.

Performance Clothing:

  • Brass and String Students: School uniform
  • Senior Choir: Bright clothing or traditional Indian attire
  • Junior Choir: School Uniform

We look forward to all children attending to represent Challis Music Program and having some fun at the Kelmscott Show after their performance.
