Dear Parents,
It’s the beginning of a very exciting year for Sport and Physical Education at Challis. We are welcoming the new Early Childhood Education Centre Physical Education teacher – Mr McDowell - who is spearheading the start of lots of new programs to get you active, both during and after school. There will be details of them very soon!
To start the year we would like to remind you that students must wear suitable shoes, a hat and bring a water bottle on the day that they play sport or Phys Ed. With such hot weather it is very important that students be prepared for when they go out and play in the sun.
We look forward to seeing you around the school and being active!
The Walking Bus is soon to commence and we are looking for students and parents wishing to get involved and participate. The walking bus is a group of students, parents, guardians and teachers that meet at a designated location and walk to school. The Walking Bus is designed to increase the students level of daily physical activity and provide them with a safe and enjoyable mode of transport to school?
After school sport will run between week 4 and week 10 and we would like to invite you to participate. The Active After School program is a government funded initiative, designed to expose students to a range of different sports and provide them with the contacts to get involved in their chosen sport at a club level. This year after school sport will be offered to the following year groups Pre Primary - Year One, Years 2-4 and years 5-7. There will be a maximum of 30 students in each group so be quick to submit your application, if you are interested. Participating students will be notified by a letter sent home addressed to their parents.
