Tiny Tots

Monday 9.00 - 10.30am

Challis Parenting & Early Learning Centre

Come along to weekly ”Bub’s Group” to network with other new mums and dads,  share tips and experiences with one another, and give your baby a chance to  socialize with other similar-aged babies. “Bub’s Group” offers an informal opportunity for parents to get together each week and build strong friendships. The sessions are facilitated by our Family Support Worker. 

Suitable for all mums and dads with babies aged 0-24 months (not appropriate for older siblings to attend)

Move & Groove

Tuesday 9.00 - 10.00am

Undercover area (back of school)

Come along to “Move and Groove” to have lots of fun with your child while learning about early childhood development. “Move and Groove” provides active, age appropriate movement opportunities that enable your child to crawl, jump, hop, swing, roll, tumble, hang, climb, sing and dance their way to healthy physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.

Suitable for children living within the Challis Community Primary School boundary aged 0-5 years

 

Drop-in Session  

Wednesday 9.00 - 11.00am

Challis Parenting & Early Learning Centre

At a drop-in session a Child Health Nurse is available for quick queries or concerns without an appointment. You can also meet and talk with other parents. Scales are available for you to check your baby’s weight. For complicated issues or personal matters, please phone the Child Health Nurse on 9391 4158 to make an appointment.

Stay & Play

Wednesday 9.00 - 10.30am/Thursday 9.00 - 10.30 am

J6 classroom                                                  

 

Stay & Play provides fun and age-appropriate learning opportunities for children to practice and develop fine motor, sensory, language and social skills essential for healthy development. The structured program is based on research and development and is designed to ensure your child is ready for school. Bring your child along to paint, cut, thread, splash, and mash so that they have the best start and are ready for school.

It Takes  Village                                             Thursday 10.00 am - 12.00 pm

Challis Parenting & Early Learning Centre

 

It Takes A Village is a supported playgroup program especially for multicultural families. If English is not your first language, and if you have migrated to Australia more than 5 years ago, this is a great program to support you and your children. We provide fun and educational sessions for your children to get them ready for school and help them make friends. We also provide information and English classes for mothers, to help you get the support and information you need.

 

Story Time Not currently running

Thursday 9.00 - 10.00am

J6 classroom (playgroup room)

 

Come along to “Story Time” to have lots of fun bringing stories to life! “Story Time” provides age appropriate language and literacy opportunities that enable your child to develop skills essential for talking, understanding and reading. Bring your child along to bounce and sing-along to nursery rhymes, listen to stories, act out characters, and explore early language and literacy in a fun and engaging way.
